Ever since the serpent appeared in the Garden of Eden, “another spirit” has been at work leading people away from the true God, undermining His Word, and turning them inward. The Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven and comes to us through God’s holy Word and Sacraments so that we might know Him, receive His gifts, and be turned outward toward our neighbors in love.
