Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML)

Serve the Lord with Gladness.

Psalm 100:2 ESV

LWML is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. For over 77 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

The mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

Our Savior’s LWML meets monthly and is open to all women of the congregation.

Some of our Activities Include:

  • We have an ongoing ministry to a local nursing home, participating in their annual Christmas program, making Valentine cards for them, and also making fleece lap blankets to help keep them warm in the winter.
  • Gathering and delivering “care packages” (socks, towels, toiletries, etc) to Veteran sites.
  • Holding baby showers for mothers in the congregation.
  • Hosting luncheons where one of the member women provides a commentary of their travel experience, includes slides. Attendance is open to all members of the congregation, members of sister congregations, and friends.
  • Coordinating gatherings at the church after funeral and memorial services.
  • Holding a Tea Party for women of the church.
  • Mailing “goodie packages” to college students from the church who are away from home.
  • Attending other LWML group rallies and retreats.
  • Collecting loose change in Mite Boxes from members of the congregation to fund district and national mission grants (over $100 million collected since 1942). Ask for one!

During June, as we close out our year, we invite other family members to join us on our year end field trip. Most recently we enjoyed a boat trip on a local lake followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant.
