How We Worship

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.

Mark 10:45 (ESV)

Divine Service

At Our Savior Lutheran Church we follow the historic liturgy. In this liturgy, Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, serves us. We call this the Divine Service, because God serves us with His saving love, and we receive what He gives.

Service times are every Sunday at 10:00 am and on the first Sunday of the month at 7:00 pm. We are wheelchair accessible. There is also a staffed nursery on Sunday mornings for children up to three years old.

Why do we worship with the liturgy?

  • It delivers what Christ earned for us by His sinless life, substitutionary death on the Cross, and resurrection, namely: the forgiveness of sins (John 15:3).
  • It puts the Holy Spirit’s own Words (Holy Scripture) into our ears, creating faith in us (Romans 10:16; John 6:63).
  • It leads each one of us to respond, as His priest, by offering the sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving in the God-pleasing Words of Scripture (1 Peter 2:9–10; Isaiah 59:21; Hebrews 13:15–16).
  • It joins us with the ancient, one, holy, catholic (Christian), and apostolic Church (2 Thessalonians 2:13–15; Jude 3; 1 Corinthians 14:36; 15:1–8; Revelation 7:9).
  • It enables to pray in unison as one body joined together by the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:1–4; Acts 2:42).
  • With His blessing, it sends us out into our Father’s world worshiping and proclaiming Christ by loving our Lord and our neighbor (Numbers 6:22–27; Luke 24:50–53; Romans 12:1).
