When Higher Is Really Lower . . . and Vice Versa
Bible Text: Luke 14:1-14 | Preacher: Pastor Peter Gregory | As the man sick with dropsy is physically swollen and grotesque, so too are we swollen and grotesque with our sins, especially with the pride that we use to push others down. But Jesus invites us through the open door of His mercy and grace and invites us to take the highest seat—to have His place—while He takes the lowest place, even the place of sinners on the cross. Taking and healing us, Jesus then sends us out to join Him in the higher place of loving and serving our neighbors.
