In the run up to Christmas, a special visit changes everything. When Mary visits Elizabeth and John in utero, they receive another unexpected visitor: little Jesus, recently conceived by the Holy Spirit. The visit leads John to leap for joy, Elizabeth to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and both Elizabeth and Mary to wonder at how “my Lord” and “God my Savior” should come to them. The hidden presence of Jesus works such change in us as well, for through the Word He enters our ear to create and sustain faith, and in the Holy Sacrament He feeds us with His own body and blood.
