Bible Text: Luke 2:22-24 | Preacher: Pastor Peter Gregory | Why would Joseph and Mary give Jesus back to the Lord forty days after Christmas? That’s what they did by presenting her firstborn Son to the Lord as a sacrifice and priest. And what will He do with this firstborn Son? The Father presents Jesus to us as our Redeemer on the cross and delivers the gifts of redemption to us in the Word and Sacraments, so that we can present our members to Him for righteousness. And, on the last day, as those redeemed by Christ, He will present us blameless and pure to His Father.
