You can’t take it with you. What does that mean for how we live here and now? The Rich Man lived for himself and ignored his poor neighbor, but God Himself saw poor Lazarus and cared for him in his death. Now we have the Holy Scriptures that testify to Jesus Christ and His resurrection. In Him, we have all that is needed both for this time and for eternity, and so we use what He Himself has given us to love our neighbors and care for the poor.
