“Oh that You would rend the heavens and come down,” Isaiah prayed. Though sin divides people from God, He does come to save us in Jesus Christ. He ripped open the heavens and came down in the flesh, as we see in Jesus’ baptism and in His entry into Jerusalem. He comes now in His Word and Sacraments. And He will come again in glory.
