John the Baptist may not have kept his head when he spoke the truth to Herod, but he gained even more from the One who increased as he decreased: the promise of the resurrection on the Last Day and the life of the world to come. Thought he moment we live in may be filled with tension and the temptation to live by lies, we have that same promise from Jesus to give us strength.
