“We have no king but Caesar!” Do they really know what they’re saying? Do we know what we’re saying when we look to Caesar as king? But there’s a King who does more than offer comfort or pleasure, on the one hand, and threaten with violence on the other. There’s a king who rules in righteousness and mercy by laying down His life for His subjects. We have no king but Jesus, enthroned on the cross!
