The One Who Showed Mercy
In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, with whom do you identify? Is it the guy left half dead, the priest, the Levite, or the Good Samaritan himself? I know who I want to be, but I find a different reality. In our failure to help others or even to notice that they need help, we turn out to be most like the priest and the Levite. Our sin and selfishness makes us blind to the mercy needed by others. But then we realize how much we need mercy—the mercy of the Good Samaritan, who is Christ our Lord.
