Jesus prayed that His followers would be one—one in doctrine and truth with Himself as the one Shepherd and Head of the Church. Even as He prayed, so He grants such unity to us through His Word, condemning the divisions we create, inviting us to believe the truth, and uniting us through the forgiveness of sins.
