Lent encourages us to engage in reflection, but not self-reflection that turns us inward. Jesus provides three practice that help turn us outward: fasting, giving to the needy, and prayer. Even as He fasted, gave, and prayed for us, so now through these practices He leads us to reflect the work and love of the Holy Trinity.
