Bible Text: Matthew 3:1-12 | Preacher: Pastor Peter Gregory | You know it’s Advent when you start hearing the voice of John the Baptizer. He’s a preacher of repentance and faith, not a preacher of happy holidays. Have we treated repentance lightly? As though it’s simply something to check off the list and get out of the way? John the Baptizer will have none of it. There’s nothing wimpy about his message. He calls us to daily repentance, so that he can point us to the Savior whose death is sufficient to atone for all our sins: the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
