St. Paul describes everything he had in this world as “rubbish” compared with knowing Christ Jesus His Lord. Meanwhile, the wicked tenants in the Parable of the Vineyard are willing to throw out Christ for the sake of holding on to the things of this world. But God took what they considered rubbish, the rejected stone, crucified Jesus, and builds on Him a kingdom that lasts forever.
