If you want to know what the Lord requires, He has told you plainly: to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God. But how we have failed! The indictment stands against us and none of our offerings or gifts can atone for us. What is a man to do? “Behold, the Man” whom God has provided in our place: our Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified, who is our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption. He has told us plainly what He has done, and how He is even now at work in and through us, as weak as we are, for justice, kindness, and humility.
